One of the local people on the train informed us not to get off at the first Anzio station but to get off at the second. So once we found the train we were to be on, it was an hour ride on the train, through scenic Italian countryside.
the train doesn't say it is going to Anzio it says its final destination which is Nettuno. we had planned to walk to the cemetery but ran out of time.Īfter walking to the Termini and figuring out how to get a ticket to Anzio we had to figure out which train. it was an hour out of Rome from the Termini and only cost 7 euros' round trip per person.Īnzio is also the location that Allied forces came ashore during the World War and there is an American cemetery at Anzio as well. we looked up some beaches and found one at Anzio Italy. After walking through Rome for 3 days we looked for a location we could go to relax.
